Advent Vega won't boot

I have just purchased a used Advent Vega via Ebay. I have been charging it for 2 hours. Have switched on tablet and the backlight comes on and nothing else. I have contacted the seller who ensures me he tested it 10 mins before posting and it was working fine. Can anyone help me. I am new to tablet PC's and need as much as help as possible.
