I flashed Vegacomb b (exe), it restarted but stayed on the warning about paying for vegacomb for 10-15 minutes which didn't seem right so I held power for 6 seconds and it turned off. After that it would never turn on or go into recovery (I know all the methods, none worked). Today I unhooked the battery, when I plug the battery back in the screen comes on for a second but then it's as it was, unresponsive. HOWEVER, if I plug the mains in with the battery disconnected then it immediately tries booting but still sticks at the warning (left for over 20 minutes). If I plug the battery in while on this screen then remove the mains it stays on. The power button is unresponsive through this so I still cannot get into recovery. Any more ideas that haven't been mentioned? I've tried well over 100 times to get into recovery but it's not happening original post Hi guys, just managed to (re?) install Vegacomb (b, from exe), it restarted but stayed on the white screen with the warning text about paying for Vegacomb for over 10 minutes so I held down the power button to turn it off, now I cannot do anything to boot it up (tried holding power button down from 0.5 seconds to 60 seconds!), it also won't boot into recovery. Sounds like you need to reflash... try the following; To nvFLASH MODDED STOCK, VegaComb 3.2 BUILD 9B, or the OFFICIAL STOCK ROM: If you haven't already done so, you will need to install the Windows USB System driver http://www.myadventvega.co.uk (The STOCKROM can also be found here). Download and EXTRACT it a folder on your PC (eg. C:/ADVENT) Connect your Vega to your PC, via a USB cable. Connect your Vega to the mains, via the charger. On the Vega, effect a FORCED POWERDOWN by long pressing (6 seconds) the POWERBUTTON. Now to enter nvFLASH RECOVERY MODE... Press and hold the BACKBUTTON for 2 seconds Still holding the BACKBUTTON, press the POWERBUTTON for 2 seconds ...and release... But continue to hold the BACKBUTTON for a further 2 seconds. Upon succesfull completion of this key press sequence, your PC will either direct you to install the USB System driver (in which case, point it to the folder as detailed above)... ...or it will 'ping' the 'found new hardware' sound Now, on your PC, you can double click on the MODDEDSTOCK .exe (or whatever ROM you wish to nvFLASH). -------------- The whole BACKBUTTON>POWERBUTTON>BACKBUTTON sequence requires precise timing... An alternate method (by partner) to get into nvFLASH RECOVERY that seems to have worked for some is as follows: 1. Unplug from the charger and the computer 2. Press back (Don't release it) 3. Plug in the charger 4. Connect to the computer 5. Press the power button 6. A battery pull can be accomplished as follows (never tried this myself, and personally, I wouldn't recommend it, unless all other options had failed.) Assuming you're running a Vega (you don't specify), and not one of it's variants...(POV/Viewpad) "...Remove the four rubber pads in the corners, unscrew the small Philips head screws and gently separate the rear cover (it has plastic clips that help hold it in place. Then there is just one push fit connector to disconnect. HI Is it possible that the battery is Kaput. If the tab works on the power lead but not the battery it would suggest that the battery, if not dead, is faulty, and although showing charged, it is not. GED. yes, the first 48 hours of trying was with a fully charged battery Vega was 2nd hand from eBay, it worked fine for 4 months, it wasn't rooted when I bought it. there's no cheap/broken Vega's available and it doesn't appear that you can buy batteries for it :( Edited January 16, 2012 by mmace Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest partner2 Posted January 16, 2012 Report Share Posted January 16, 2012 I know it will sound a bit silly, but change the order to enter nvflash: 1 - Unplug the tablet from the main and the computer 2 - Plug to the main (left the computer unplugged) 3 - Presh back and hold it until the end of the process 4 - Plug to the computer 5 - Wait some seconds (5 or so, more than 2 anyway) 6 - Release back button 7 - Try nvflash This worked for me and a couple of guys from tabletroms. I started running Vegacomb HC 3.2 9b exe and it pushed files to tablet (system.img was last), the tablet then booted to the warning screen for 5 seconds or so and then went off and back to being dead again. My previous experience of Vegacomb 9b gave me the same results whereas loading modded stock V2 and then Vegacomb 9n via CWM gave me a working tablet. Just remember if you go this route that you need to set the time and date and setup the wifi in modded stock before flashing Vegacomb 9n otherwise you may find the wifi will not work and the time and date keeps showing incorrectly. You could try flashing VegaICS onto your tablet instead as that is an NV flash format install, personally though I would think of starting small and building your way up just to check everything works correctly, so flashing modded stock and then Corvus5 via CWM might be a good starting place and if all works then you can wipe your tablet and flash Vegacomb 9n onto it. The only thing I can think of then is maybe you have a lot of bad nand blocks. Have you seen that post about the chap who had problems flashing because of problems with the BCT I wonder if you have got a similiar problem to him?
