Hi guys, followed the instructions for installing Atomic ROM, but all I am getting now is the green Android and it is not going anywhere. I can access the CWM recovery screen. So what shall I try next? help would be very much appreciated as I am a bit panicking now. Please note that I am a complete noob, and this is my first Android. Thanks

Don't worry. If you can access recovery nothing can go wrong. Have you wiped data?

Wiped data?

I did the 3 wipes required, then i did the 4th wipe as advised by

This was: Mounts and storage => format /system

Is there another wipe to do. What do I need to do to get the phone back on, shall I do a restore and start again?

Thanks tilal

I would advise to download atomic again and make sure the file size and MD5 is correct!

also, have you changed your partitions with TPT ?

Nope, i did not... i asked in atomic thread what should i do, coz i used some old tillaz version... maybe thats the problem ?:)

OK now you have lost me :). Download Atomic again not a problem, how do I check the file size and MD5? Did I change my partitions with TPT? No I did not, I don't remember seeing anything about that on the tutorial. Could you guide through this?

Thanks

JC

PS: I have used the latest version of Atomic uploaded last night I think

Ok. You seem to have done all the wipes required. Try flashing another Rom and then reflash atomic.

Sorry tilal, I missed your post. Any ROM in particular? And I do I drop a new ROM on the SD card? Shall I remove the SD card from the phone and link it to my PC?

Thanks

JC

I have done a restore back on the old Orange stock. I am going to try again in a while to reinstall Atomic, maybe I did something wrong. I will let you know how i get on. Thanks

Did you do this wipe before or after you flashed Atomic? It wouldn't be wise to do it after flashing as you're just defeating the flash by erasing the partition where you just flashed Atomic on to... If you've done the wipe before then nvm... and as above posts it is a good idea to check the MD5 number on the zip file matches with what has been written here... Sorry if I can't help with specific to your problem but I hope you get it working...

PS... Whilst you're flashing still why not try out the TPT method to re-partition the phones storage to give you a better partition storage layout?... here is the link...

There is also a Part on TPT's and MD5 sums in my tutorial its part 10. Dont worry about bricking just follow the steps VERY carefully and you should be good. But its not necessairy to do a TPT,i waited till i felt comfortable doing it.

And now that i did repartition my phone i dont even notice any difference, so if i where you and you dont even know what it is you wont mis it :P

And for the wipes i removed "formating a something wrong cloud brick your phone" thats not true... It was in the clockworkmod guid but its not tue, as long as you can boot into clockworkmod you dont have to worry but i know the feeling. In the beginning when i started doing this i was allways at the edge of my seat when i saw the recovery menu :)

I would try flashing cyanogenmod 7, if that works the problem is with atomic. I can only install atomic from the 4gb SD that came with my phone and it needs to be formated if i use my 16gb card it bootloops....

OK guys I have managed to install CyanogenMod 7 and it is working, so could it be that the Atomic one was faulty. Shall I retry to download the file again and retry to install?

If cm 7 is working then it is likely to be a tpt problem. You should tpt the 200mb system 35mb cache. Use the pinned thread for instructions

Its a known problem it seems more people have tis in the atomic topic, I also had a lot of trouble with this ROM in the past but since its working i dont think i will be switching anytime soon. :) Cyanogenmod wil always be one of my favorites. I always have a cyanogenmod backup to flash back to.
