Guest Paul
Orange have today announced a new own-brand tablet available on contract, the 'Orange Tahiti'. The device is available from £69.99 on a price plan of £25 per month and will hit stores this week. The Tahiti is Orange's first own brand tablet for the UK. The official specifications are as follows... Lightweight design - offering great portability at just 390g7” multi-touch LCD screenDual core 1.2GHz Qualcomm processorSlate black and silver finish5 mega pixel cameraAGPS, WiFi, Bluetooth as well as a 3G+ connection. Our own detective work leads us to think the device is a rebranded Huawei MediaPad (this is unconfirmed however), which gives us some additional information such as the fact it has a unibody aluminium chassis, is just 10.5mm (0.4 inches) deep and weighs approximately 390g. According to Huawei the MediaPad supports 1080P full HD video playback and features a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera, while the 5 megapixel auto focus rear facing camera has HD video recording capabilities. Connectivity is provided by With HSPA+ 14.4Mbps and high-speed WiFi 802.11n support. We've asked Orange for more information on the tablet (including whether a prepay release is planned) as well as a review unit, so watch this space for further information! A little more detail and some additional pictures are also available on the Orange website. Edit: It's definitely a Huawei MediaPad! Further information / pictures are now available on the Orange Press Site. This item was promoted to the News page - click here to view.
