I am having trouble getting logs on a rom. from what I have read, it needs to be enabled in the kernal in this file "/etc /syslog.conf"

I cannot find this in mmhmp R9 and 3 logging apps that I tried wont show the logs.

So what are my options short of flashing a different rom? Can I flash a standard Cm7 kernel to get logging back and if so, can someone post a link please.

I mentioned this on R8 and got no reply so thought it would be fixed in R9.

I thought this would be standard on most roms, so would there be any reasons not to include logging capabilities?

I did answer you on the first time too. Maybe it got lost somewhere in between posts.

If you give /system/bin/logcat 06755 permissions, aLogcat (and probably other apps too) works again for me.

In terminal:
su
sysrw
chmod 06755 /system/bin/logcat
sysro
