Guest JoshyS
Hi there I'm hoping you guys can help me as I am a bit of a newbie when it comes to phones. The other day I purchased a OMC from Orange and unlocked it via the guide floating around the internet. Everything when brilliantly, my 3 (my network) sim card was picked up and I cam make and receive texts, happy days, I thought I had a brilliant replacement for my old SF. The problem is that I didn't check that the 3G settings worked (I was low on credit and have only topped up today). I've tried today and no matter what settings I fiddle about with I just can't get any 3G data. Now the interesting thing is that 3G did work with the Orange sim card. I am wondering that perhaps some of the bloat ware hidden in the phone is perhaps causing the 3G not to work for another network? I thought I'd ask for a bit of help before I went ahead and tried to install another ROM which I'm not really keen on doing just yet (it looks more complicated than installing a ROM on my SF!). Thoughts? Thanks

Guest JoshyS
I checked all of the settings but with no luck. In the end I loaded a new ROM and my 3G works fine. I can only assume that it is an issue due to the Orange software pre installed on the phone. Hopefully this will serve as a bit of a heads up to anyone else who has a similar problem in the future - If you are unlocking your Monte Carlo go the slight step further and install a replacement ROM too! Its worth the little bit of effort! Thanks
