Hey Lens. Can you change the ext partition in Linux from ext2 to ext3 or ext4 without it formatting the partition? I'm installing a dual boot of xubuntu right now.

finally compiled a recovery, thanks lens!
if you use ext4 as the sd-ext like me, you can use this recovery to back it up

haven't tried restoring a backup yet but its worked for backing up
/sd-ext ext4 /dev/block/mmcblk0p2 /dev/block/mmcblk0

I had some problems during restore, it crashed somehow my ext-partition =/ maybe it was my sd-card as it's dead now and I'm waiting for the new one

fixed sd-ext recovery
if you get an error on backup run this command in shell when in recovery mode
first one lets you choose if you want to fix errors, second one fixes every error
Download: http://code.google.c...&q=#makechanges
it crashes your second partition, do NOT use it.

e2fsck /dev/block/mmcblk0p2or

Hey I have tried this link and successfully restored to the ext partition, e2fsck reported no errors
@Tecnolover is this why you have marked the download above as depreciated? Is there a chance it was just your card was about to die anyway?
Anyway I'm happy
Edit: By the way I'm using the 2GB card that came with the phone.

Thanks for this lens. Without this we would have no custom roms and this works perfectly. Again, thanks

Mmmmmm. Yeah maybe. But you at least ported a newer version and added technolovers ext2 support. Just wondering, can you ask the cwm Guy (kouche or something like that) to add us to rom manager?

It's not a touch recovery, it uses the basic navigation modes:
Volume Up/Down
Camera Button
Power Button
The same as in AmonRa
