Got to admit for 100 English pounds this looks quite nice. Not a huge upgrade but still an upgrade. Got that 4" sweet spot of a screen. I feel 4.3 is a little too big and I have big hands!

If it gets an unlock I will be seriously tempted!

Not a bad looking phone and for £100 I reckon that's a bargain, but it remains to be seen how much 'meddling' Vodafone will do to it. With its 1GHz processor, it should be possible to have Ice Cream Sandwich.

the screen has a resolution of only 480x320 say the reviews on this phone.

Really, if that's so, even that's armv7, skate FTW!

i think it would be more like 480x800 in this day and age.

maybe just speculation on there behalf.

quote from cnet

Screen

The 4-inch screen has a resolution of 480x320 pixels, which is considerably lower than its bigger brother, the Ascend D Quad's 720p resolution. It's coming with a much lower price tag, so I can't really hold that against it.

The display is bright and sharp though, with small text and home screen icons shown clearly. Its low resolution won't appeal to those of you who do a lot of web browsing, as you'll have to scroll quite a bit to read everything, but its fairly decent colour handling skills make it at least adequate for watching YouTube clips or BBC iPlayer.

It will be 480x800. There's no way a 4" phone can have that little number of pixels.

I'm guessing it will be msm7x27a and updated adreno200.

So my AMOLED Blade goes to the girlfriend, the skate becomes a backup and I buy one of these,

(girlfriend dropped the white bladecracking the touch screen, might sell it for parts).

Unless anyone knows anything more tempting on the near horizon.

msm7227a has a normal clock range of 800mhz-1000mhz, does that mean that the 1000mhz versions are o'ced I don't get it...? :s

It's like the blade/skate. The skate has a turbo version of msm7227 with 800MHz. It's not overclocked but has a higher clok speed by stock.

So this is a version 7 processor and not version 6?

Tried looking it up on the Huawei site but nothing lists.

Is this a cut down telephone providers special then?
