Hi folks!

I've repacked the Chinese 1.28.1400.6 update to experiment for my own use, so thought i'd share it here.

It is the update with all Chinese removed, missing bits added and optimised with the MCR build system. It should be flashed via ClockworkMod recovery, and you MUST back up first! To flash, first flash the 'tomcr' update zip, then the ROM update zip. If you are returning to a stock based ROM without wiping /data, you must use the 'tostock' update zip before doing so.

There are 2 known issues, the first is that a 'data connection status' icon persists in the top bar, the second is that, due to the Chinese origins of the ROM, the option to add / edit Google account settings is missing from Accounts and Sync. You can add accounts however via the settings menu of the Gmail app.

Nice one, flashes ok and boots ok .. didn't even have to wipe data, all is intact coming from LeeDroid 2.x  .. looks good so far .. lets see how it is over the coming hours

I do notice NvCPLSvc.apk is still in /system/bin which it has transpired over the past day or so from Mike1986 should be in the /system/app location .. some graphics drivers it appears to be looking at it ...   It does not get loaded in this location ...

edit:- interestingly when the apk is moved the service does not start for me anyway like it does on the other 1.26 rom, the dalvik-cache entry is created but its not running .. weird ..
who knows how much this is needed anyway for 1.28 ..   ahh might need to sign it

could be odex problem .. meh no time .. off to play ..

Cheers that works ok .. though with some caveats ..

The adb cant push it direct it seems as adb gets permission denied due to i think adbd running as shell and not root.  To adb push it in the perms of adb need to change or the permissions of /system/app need to be blown wide open.. after that its fine.

This image for me also has an issue gaining root, im working to figure that out issue now ... super user installed and an ics supporting version of su, copied to /system/bin too

Are you able to gain root ok in this image ?

Hello Paul, do you have any idea of what is causing the backlight to stay ON while the X is charging? I've fullt wiped to make sure, but the problem still persists, and only while charging.

Check in settings to see if stay awake is enabled for either display & geustures or developers options.

Anyone successfully installed this following Pauls repack on the 16th ? Tried this twice now and phone gets stuck at the HTC logo (and full brightness) each time.


EDIT : And to make sure I wasn't being stupid / it wasn't a fluke, tried an alternate ROM and that's installed first time.

Thanks Paul, I understand, we'll be waiting. But HTC seems not so reactive in these first days of One series sales; not a good idea considering dropping profits and so near Samsung S3 launch.  

The main issue is screen on battery usage. It doesn't seem that China 1.28 solved it.
