okyo, Japan, March 13, 2012: Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider today announced the launch of a multi-band multi-mode Mobile WiFi (mobile Wi-Fi hotspot) – the E589 FDD edition, designed to complement the eAccess LTE network. The E589 FDD (known as the GL01P by eAccess), to be commercially released on March 15, supports LTE FDD/HSPA+/UMTS, and helps eAccess provide genuine end-to-end solutions covering LTE networks and LTE devices.

The E589 supports convenient access to the LTE network for up to 10 Wi-Fi devices, including mobile phones, tablets, notebook computers, PSP consoles, and e-books. The product has a battery life of up to 10 hours, and is compatible with 95% of battery-powered Wi-Fi enabled devices currently on the market.

The E589, with its ultra-thin exterior, streamlined design and large TFT display, optimizes wireless performance, maintaining strong signals even on the edge of an LTE network. Dubbed the “Pocket WiFi” (term trademarked by eAccess), the E589 frees users from geographical and network connection constraints, enabling consumers to enjoy LTE wireless broadband network access anytime, anywhere. Consumers will benefit from LTE download speed of 100 Mbps, taking less than five minutes to download a 1GB high-definition film for instance.

The E589 global edition will feature internal SD cards which can be read and written through Wi-Fi connections, empowering consumers to easily share photographs, documents, music, and video files. It will also support text messaging functions – its sophisticated Web UI software design allowing users to compose, send and receive text messages via their computer quickly and conveniently.

With the E589, Huawei continues to lead the LTE industry. Its LTE portfolio includes the world’s first LTE multi-mode data card, the E398; the world’s first LTE TDD wireless broadband router, the B593; the world’s first LTE TDD multi-mode data card, the E392; and the world’s first LTE TDD multi-mode mobile hotspot, the E589 TDD
