can someone say what does it update to? also if gen1 or gen2

If you check the ZTE device page http://www.zteuk.co.uk/device/ only some handsets are supported by the update tool including the Racer gen1 but not the Racer gen2.
As for updates I wouldn't even bother trying I think you would have more luck winning the lottery than Three UK offering Gingerbread 2.3 upgrades for the Racer gen1.
