Guest H3ROS Posted April 24, 2012 Report Share Posted April 24, 2012 (edited) You're forgetting that AtomICS is Android 2.3.5 and has Dolby and was released well before AtomicMod R14. AtomicMod R13 was 2.3.4 and didn't have Dolby. AtomICS is based off SKatie and older AtomicMod versions and has all the bloat/unnecessary stuff removed. Why do you think recent versions of AtomicMod had the WiFi bug, the camera recording quality bug, the different handling to auto-brightness, the fixed lockscreen text colours, the fixed settings menu resolution, the same hosts file that I created and same list of APNS? It's because AtomicMod R14 and up has been built from my AtomICS source and has then had a different theme and extra applications added in. Look at the checksums of the framework files too. And I don't mean the .jar's, but the classes.dex files inside them. They wouldn't be the same if it was a freshly done job, but it shows that they're right out of AtomICS and have been recompressed. My personal opinion is that he should stick with one to be able to have enough time for it. Otherwise it is expected that he ends up mainly with copy/paste work. It's clear he's talented as he's made the themes and gathered together tweaks from around the net, but it's also clear that he's taken a shortcut with R14 and up. So maybe he did deodex a ROM, but then he's "borrowed" whole chunks of AtomICS which I guess is to save him some time since he's been so focused on the ICS theme. The thing is he's not mentioned using AtomICS as the base source, even though it clearly is. And then he's said stuff like the following which makes it seem like he's done lots of work throughout the whole ROM when it was me who ported all of the 2.3.4 code to 2.3.5. not to mention R14 is a newer version of 2.3.5 than your rom If it was a newer revision of 2.3.5 then very few of the checksums would match, but 98% of them do. So from using AtomICS as his 2.3.5 source he's ended up with the same bugs as me and the same design choices (kernel, auto-brightness adopted from SKatie, white "Sound is on", HDPI settings etc). By the looks of things it went like this: Deodexed a ROM"Borrowed" whole chunks of AtomICS and pasted it in to save time (this made the 2.3.5 revision he deodexed irrelevant)Changed or added some APK's to give different settings / appsChanged the themeRecompressed framework and some APK'sReleased to public Maybe on his other device it's different, but for the Skate the above seems accurate. Ok I think thats about best I can do for now,need some sleep. Having trouble coloring those keyboard_hints will try again tomorrow. I've not really got much else to say to Tillaz. He'll keep saying he done things and I'll end up replying with the proof that shows otherwise. So, may I suggest that the last few posts get deleted?
