Hi Guy,

I have the acer liquid metal and I'm really stuggling as the internal memory is not enough hardly anything can go on the sd card.
I've tried something from another thread but I can't get it to work.
I put the zip file on and tried loading via the 3 buttons but it told me signature not verified.
WHen I tried vaches bit it never seems to do the bootleader 3 colours.

Could anyone help. I'm a complete novice and really want to learn.
An idiots guide would be much aprecied :-)

link the thread you're following so we know what u did, and tell us about your phone, is it rooted?has it on a custom rom?if yes, which one?which recovery are u using?
for signature there is a option in recovery called toggle signature, (enable-disable) if u disable it won t tell you "signature not verified", but don t do that until we see what u are falshing, cause for moving to sdcard is not necessary to flash anything (if u have root already)

Hi guido, thanks for replying.
The thread was [2.3.6] acer official release 4.000.13.EMEA.GEN1 http://android.modac...400013emeagen1/
I have an acer liquid mt (S120) straight from the box with android gingerbread.
It isn't rooted and doesn't have a custom rom.
I've put on the file in the above thread onto my sd card, I downloaded acer sync as I don't have a driver on the computer. It says when syning that the phone isn't syncing but it si installing drivers.
When I try the recovery file the cmd prompt comes up but nothing seems to happen. I once (don't know how) got it into bootloader mode, but nothing happened didn't matter how long or what I did so took the battery out.
I must say I am very new to this and it's my first smartphone. Iove the phone just hate that I can only install 1-3 apps before memory is out, All I want is to be able to move all apps to sd.
Thanks again in advance

Hi,

Like you, I have also come to this forum for the low-memory-problem and I am also a complete novice. This stickied guide has helped me do what I wanted and get a nicely working phone with over 100 apps. There are various roms (customized android versions?) to choose from. There is a poll about which one is best, but I don't think it is very representative because some roms have been added to the poll later on.

I have used Vache's gingerounay (no more updates) for a long time carrying about 140 apps, but things started to run slower and yesterday I switched to Pinguy's Performance Rom which, so far, seems to run smoother so far. But I recommend taking a look at the other roms as well.

Ok for superuser...but have u installed the recovery file before trying the combo?there is the thread of the recovery with instruction to install it...after u installed recovery u can try flash superuser again to get root...i don t understand the signature part, but as my friend above said to gain root u can flash a custom rom to get root (and other feature), but u have to be sure of have installed the recovery

Rereading your post i get about the recovery (do never remove battery or stop process when u re installing/flashong something or you ll risk to brick your phone). As i said the best thing u can do now is to go on vache's recovery thread and follow instruction (also read the cmd lines cause it will ask to push a botton when it recognize phone to get confirmation)

Thanks guys. When I use acersync it always says fail. Maybe the computer (an acer) isn't recognising my phone.
I'll try not to pull out battery :)

Maybe it's not necessary to use acer sync, I've never used it though managed to flash roms etc.

EDIT: again, I strongly suggest you use this guide. It covers the most important things you want I think.

agree...forget acer sync (its only purpose is to sync your phone data with your pc = useless cause u have an sd card). simply go to the acer site (driver and download, here the link for my country, try to find for yours: http://www.acer.it/a...content/drivers) , put in the folds your model and download just drivers...it will surely work ;)

Hi all, I know it's been a long time since I was last asking for help, but I never got chance to get it working.
Here's were I am and I wondered if someone can tell me whre I'm going wrong.

Copied su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed.zip to microSD card in phone
Put phone into debugging mode
Phone turned on
Connect phone to computer
Vache's Recoveri 2.2 click on link
unzip file
launch install recovery cmd
meet requirements press enter (enter pressed)
'adb.exe' is not recognised as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file
If you have seen an attached device with a number your requirements are ok, press enter
If you have not seen any device close this window be sure debugginf is on on the phone and run again, if it is not enough, reinstall drivers press any key.
Enter pressed
'abd.exe' is not recognised as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file
Please wait while phone is rebooting in bootlandermode. When the phone is in BOOTLOADER mode press enter
If you have device not found messafe close this windw check driver installation and be sure USB debugging is enables and run again.
Never enters debugging mode :-( Nothing happens

Please help I'm really frustrated with it as I want to install more than 2 apps

The steps I took to get Cwm on my phone (acer liquid mt)
Files needed: I used lens_flare Cwm 5 and the entire zip NEEDS to be extracted (I'm not sure if you did this)
1, enable usb debugging
2, connect the phone up without mounting sd card
2.5, make sure the drivers are installed
3, open launch-recovery.cmd
4 go through the install script
5 flash superuser

1, enable usb debugging Done
2, connect the phone up without mounting sd cardif you mean don't set to transfer files. thats ok, if not I might need more info
2.5, make sure the drivers are installed installed driver
3, open launch-recovery.cmd
4 go through the install script
5 flash superuser

I know most of the instructions out there are reletively easy to follow but I think I really need a step by step idiots guide

p.s.thanks for the quick response

Hi All, I've finally managed to root the phone. I had to go down the superoneclick meathod. I now have superuser icon.
I think I now need to partition my memory card so I can use linktosd. I had a look at the guide but that lost me more than the rooting one. id there an easy way?
Thanks for all the posts to try and get me sorted
