Guest Dazzozo Posted May 17, 2012 Report Share Posted May 17, 2012 All the underlying hardware code in Android is unchanged in XobotOS so there shouldn't be any problems regarding hardware support. The benefits aren't in using C# (other than lol legal aspects), they are in having a better VM than Dalvik. A new/improved VM could also be done in Java. Like Launchers etc. cuz they're also written in Java for the Dalvik VM? I know not much in programming languages, so excuse MT ignorance, but will it be possible to port the apps to C# without an unacceptable amount of effort? Improvements to the current VM would be great indeed, I feel these devices have potential to be faster than they are now. Xamarin themselves have said they're done with it, so it'll be a fork if anything that picks it up.
