Guest Mub6
Hey guys, is it normal for the phone to not turn on at all after water damage? My friend has buggered his S2 but he's a bit concerned. I've advised him the usual - isopropyl, dismantle, rice, air etc Cheers, Mubs
Guest PaulOBrien
I hate to say it but yes, that's pretty normal if it's seriously damaged! :( P
Guest Mub6
Thanks Paul, what are we talking in terms of serious damage? short circuit? motherboard deposits? what is the likelihood of repair after washing the phone in isopropyl alcohol and drying. Thanks.
Guest cjb110
If he tried turning it on too soon (i.e. it wasn't fully dry), and shorted it, that's usually pretty fatal I'm afraid. Drying it further wont help now. There are repair places though, the operators (ab)use them when your out of warranty. They might give you a quote, but I'd expect £40+
