Guest misterleoni Posted May 18, 2012 Report Share Posted May 18, 2012 I'm just typing this in case anyone wasn't aware: I've used many an Android device and most are slow as a slug to charge, unlike the iPhone, which seems to charge like lightning. This might not seem like much of an issue, but personally I find it incredibly useful to be able to come in from work, stick my phone on charge for as little as half an hour and have enough juice to get me through the night, even from a flat battery. This is enough of a useful feature to negate the need to buy spare batteries as I have with devices like the Galaxy S2 and Nexus S. Well it seems the G300 supports 'fast charge' with a high output charger. I've used my Galaxy Note charger with the G300 (turned off) and I got from ZERO to 50% in 17 minutes. I find this absolutely fantastic. My understanding of fast charge is that the latter half of the battery will charge slower; but simply being able to get from nothing to enough charge to keep you going for hours in the time it takes to have a shower is another notch on this incredibly good value device's plus points. I also have to say that the battery on this device is among the best I've seen on an Android device. I can absolutely hammer it and still get over nine hours.... So all-in-all I'm chuffed to bits with his phone. It outdoes some of the most expensive smartphones on the market, and has one of the best speakers I've heard on an Android phone. Better even than the iPhone 3GS/4. Almost tempted to sell my Note and keep this permanently. It was only meant as a spare phone for a stag do. Compared to my ye-olde LG Arena, this phone charges in a blink of an eye, and the battery is awesome as well. I don't use permanent internet connection as there is only EDGE available in my hometown (yes, those places still exist) and I can easily charge twice per week only. Fast charging was one of the features they mentioned, something like "full charging within 2 hours". I heard that such things tend to shorten a battery lifetime, but in any case battery in G300 is replaceable.
