So as not to be rude...as far as I am aware the Chinese U8818 does have NFC and they share the same software. Huawei were just lazy so didn't remove the files from our U8815. It makes sense really given that the only apparent difference is that one phone has nfc and the other doesnt. With custom roms this will be removed if it is not needed. So I'm guessing the NFC chip is in the Chinese battery. It could be in the rear cover, but where are the connectors? I'll be in china next week, if anyone on the UK is interested in trying NFC hardware for their phone let me know! There would have to be some implementation for it to interact with the screen and the phone though. I'm wondering how this works as its a slower data transfer than Bluetooth so its hard to know whether getting a battery or back cover with nfc built in will work anyway.
