Headset music / video volume

Output volume is still really low compared to other phones and distorts at the top volume setting if there's too much bass etc.

Affects all apps including Poweramp, PlayerPro, MX Video player etc.

Sounds like a software limitation rather than a hardware one.

does anyone know what audio chip is in this phone and whether the volume output can be increased like Voodoo sound for the Galaxy S

Kinda sad I still have to carry my P990i around to get good quality loud music :)

Headset volume is pretty loud (30 dollar earphones) and i adjusted speaker volume with Volume+ app (i set +8 volume, more can damage the speaker, but +10 should be save, more is dangerous) try it :) you dont need root for it

Compared to my earlier phone (a Motorola DEFY) the music volume with earphone is a bit lower, even if I'm using the same app. I think too there must be some software limitation.

Its probably limited to save your hearing, probably an EC directive
