Flash any of the U8815 roms from the sticky topics at the top. It will change your model number and will have full Google services :) No need to even root.

Thanks for your great tutorials Franskish, you seem to be the guru here... I ask that about the U8818 cause soon I will have one myself :-) directly from China. In case you need someone for testing how the U8818 behaves I offer to help. The process of updating the U8818 seems to be easy as procedure to follow is in eglish. The only thing needed is to download the chinese rom from www.huaweidevice.com , store it in SD card and patch it. What is seems quite tough though is how to apply custom roms and root / recovery installation. By the way, have you test physically yourself with an U8818 or you read that information on the internet ? As I say I'll be able to test this myself soon , I'll let you know how it goes.

Weckl I think there are at least two guys in these forums who have confirmed this now. One Guy flashed an U8818 rom to his U8815 then flashed back to a U8815 rom afterwards.

ROMs for the 8815 and 8818 work on either device. So you can use any custom ROM for the 8815 in the 8818. Backup first as always though. If that's why you were specifically asking for 8818 custom ROMs,
