Setting a default calendar

Is it possible to set a default calendar for new entries in the G300 Calendar app? At the moment, every time I click to add a new entry it pops up asking me if I want to add this to my Phone calendar or my Google calendar, which is annoying.

I think if you go into calendar > menu > more > Calendars you can switch stop syncing and even hide any you don't want, including the internal calendar.

Even with the internal calendar turned off and set to not sync it still asks you whether you want to use the phone calendar or the Google calendar when you create a new event.

Also, if you have multiple Google calendars setup like I do there doesn't appear to be any way to select which calendar the event is assigned to. It used to work fine on my Blade but I cannot remember which calendar app I used on that.

Out of interest, who wrote the Calendar app in the G300? Was it Huawei themselves? I've not had an Android device before so I'm not familiar with what are stock apps or not.

A lot of the calendar apps on the Play store are really just skins for the calendar already installed on the phone so if you try to add an event it still uses the same system.

However, I've just installed aCalendar and that works perfectly. This appears to be a complete calendar replacement and when you add an event it uses the google calendar and also let's you select which calendar to use if you have multiple ones set up like I do.

I've been using Google Calendar (GC) for the last two years with my OSF and now with my G300. I've downloaded aCalendar and it picked up the GC items straight away. It has some additional features over and above GC which I like. Looks very promising.

I agree. I normally like a month view widget on one of my home screens but the free version of aCalendar doesn't allow that. The paid verson (aCalendar+) does though and so as it is only £1.79 I think I will get that.
