I bought an unlock code, but I can't enter it?

So I decided to buy the unlock code for my dads HTC deisre.

When I turn on the phone with a non-accepted sim, its doesn't ask for code. It just says no service.

The phone is locked to T-mobile. I tried to unlock it using an activated 3 sim.

I have contacted the site about the issue, but they are a bit slow to reply, so I have asked here.

I can make calls using a T-mobile or Orange sim

I can't make calls with the 3 sim
