Guest mxbob Posted July 4, 2012 Report Share Posted July 4, 2012 Ive ordered on It was actually the 7” size that sold it to me I find the vega a bit big to hold for long surfing sessions and too big to easily slip into a bag/pocket for when im out and about I tend to use my vega most stood up (the vega not me) on a stand Im intending to use the nexus for in handheld surfing and as a media consumption device when im out and about No micro sd isn’t an issue to me I guess it would be nice but when at home all media will be played from a NAS (as it is on my vega) and its not often im away from a computer long that the internal storage wont have enough on to keep me entertained Will also be nice to have a tegra device that is recognized properly by google play as ive had plenty of problems with apps which should run fine not being available as the market doesn’t believe they are compatible Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Currys have it on sale for £129, and he had a £50 goodwill voucher due to earlier problems with Currys, bringing the Playbook down to £79. He loves it, and I am getting one tomorrow. Mine will be the full £129 though, as I don't have a voucher. The Playbook looks like an excellent tablet, and I have a Vega too. My partner has an iPad, as well as his Playbook. I personally find 7 inch too small. I would go for an asus transformer tf300t, but that is in another price range. Guest comicbookguy Posted August 4, 2012 Report Share Posted August 4, 2012 Haven't switched the Vega on since the Nexus 7 arrived. Its worlds away in terms of performance and useability. Its been to work more times in the last week than the. Vega has in 18 months. I'm reading books and comics on it, and I only have to charge my phone up once a day now. Yes, if I was watching video on the screen on my own, the Vega's size is an advantage, but the poor viewing angles make it impossible for more than 2 people to watch it comfortably. I'll miss the HDMI out about once or twice a year, and I never filled the 16gb memory card I put in it. But: it was a great introduction to android tablets, rooting and flashing ROMs, and it still holds up as a good all around proposition, especially with the dock (it may even become a media streamer/remote/alarm clock for the bedroom if XBMC for android runs on it). Guest Oldbarzo Posted September 4, 2012 Report Share Posted September 4, 2012 Hi Personally I have an Orange Tahiti (Huawei Mediapad) which I just got on 2 year contract free at £10 per and I have it rooted and a stripped version of the Official Huawei ICS rom on it. While it is not as good spec wise as the Nexus 7 I find it brilliant for out and about, especially as it has 3G so am not reliant of Wi-Fi hotspots as I have a Virgin sim and 500MB data allowance. I still use my Vega and am patiently waiting for scanno's next iteration of VegaBean with 3G enabled, if and when he decides to make it.
