In few days i'm getting ZTE Skate , and  I'm interested in making this phone better for me :)
So i wanted to know what mode is the best for new users , and if anyone could explain me how to root the phone.
And what should i know about this phone too.

Thanks :)

What do you mean by mode? Rooting is easy just use option 1 for Skatie ROM: http://www.modaco.co...-now-available/ Also use Link2sd guide to get more space for apps. Not really much to know I think. Someone who has been here longer may help more

Well, I am not sure if he will be happy with memory repartiotioning right at the beginning (that's what skatie option1 does).
I think he should definitely go through all the pinned threads in the first place.
Everything's already there.

Please, do not use personal conversation to solve your problems. Use forum - its power is often underestimated. If I can't help somebody else will certainly try to. Thanks.

Agree with everyone else, check out all the pinned posts for details on beginning.

If you're happy with Gingerbread at the start then consider Mokee, Skatie & Atomicmod.

If you still have the time though, consider the Huawei G300 instead of Skate, better specs for about the same price.

Currently Running: ColdFusionX 2 - Jelly Bean (16/07/12 build) Alt: Mokee v1.10

i'm not sure your level of android/custom ROM experience (mine was zero) but i was in the same boat a couple of months ago, here's what i did;

-read the beginners stuff :)
-took a backup of everything stock (my main concern/panic at the time was being able to get back to stock if needed) this gets you used to the clockworkmod recovery tool without doing anything destructive to your new toy - NB. you can boot clockworkmod and use it without installing it - took me ages to realise that ! :)
-installed a new ROM .. then re-installed straight back to stock from my backup to check it works (it does!)
-i have since tried a few ROMS but still haven't messed with partitions/TPTs .. currently I'm using mokee which is ace.

good luck :)

Personally, I would start with rooting, which allows you to remove the Orange 'bloatware' and apps you don't want, and then rather than trying a custom rom I would install a launcher from the play store.  You will be surprised how much this can totally change the look of the phone.  Go launcher is the most prolific, but there are others.  Experimenting with custom roms is, in my opinion, something of a 'black art'.

The beatings will continue until morale improves.
