Guest edwardecl Posted July 4, 2012 Report Share Posted July 4, 2012 Just wanted to know if there is any way of install all of Googles services (framework, gmail, play store, ect) without installing Clockwork Recovery Mod? The phone is rooted so there's nothing stopping me just copying stuff directly to the system partition I just have no idea what to copy or even where to get the files from... I don't really want to go down the clockwork recovery route as it seems a bit overkill just to install Google services plus I don't know where to start with it and don't really want to replace the bootloader just yet. Guest Dazzozo Posted July 4, 2012 Report Share Posted July 4, 2012 You could extract the Google apps zip and take the apps out, and push them individually, making sure you follow what is done in the updater-script. Guest tillaz Posted July 4, 2012 Report Share Posted July 4, 2012 clockworkmod is really important if your rooted in my option, it can easily bring your phone back to life from a soft brick... for instance when your copying stuff to the system partition your phone might fail to boot up again... with clockwork you can still boot into recovery and restore a backup or re-flash a rom making your phone boot and work again... you would be taking a big risk messing with the system partition without a backup or a way to restore, Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
