Hmm.. over £20 for something that only attaches with double sided tape... no thanks

My LuvTab case arrived today, and for £11 delivered its great. OK, so its not massively stable when standing upright, because of the spine fold in the middle of the bottom section, but the tablet is held in very firmly by a 3 1/2 inch long velcro strap on the bottom edge (which fixes very cleverly inside the case) and long partial straps on the other 3 sides which still give access to all ports and controls. The sleep magnet works very well too.

I only have 2, very minor, gripes:
1 is that the magnet that holds the case flap shut doesn't hold it open against the back of the case, too

2 is that the screen cutout is only the same size as the screen, and the material it's made from is about 2mm thick. Its thick enough to be slightly obstructive to using the nav bar buttons and the notification pulldown...

Edit: minor gripe 3: when you wrap the front flap of the case flat against the back, you can sometimes activate the sleep sensor.....

I'm using a Belkin zip case I got for my Kindle 3. The Nexus 7 fits in it perfectly. It means I can carry the Nexus 7 around safely but use it with no cover which is what I prefer doing.

Where oh where is my Incipio feather back with attached simple 'Apple-esque' smart cover front..... no bulk, but classy....... too much to ask?

It has been sent back and the supplier is sending out a second generation replacement, which by all accounts sorts out the above and is better fitting. Not got it yet so can't comment on the updated version.

Case just came through, and for the money I'm pretty happy. I must have got the version two case as the magnets seem to work just fine, screen comes on when I open the case. As a stand its not great, the fold is a bit weak to trust to holding the N7 in landscape for video viewing, but as a case for protection and carrying around it does the job and doesn't feel overly cheap. The free stylus works well for draw something too, not put on the screen protector as I'm not a fan of them, and in the case it doesn't really need one.

I like to keep my devices naked to use. Got this cheap faux leather pouch for under £5. About 1cm bigger . But fine to carry  around in my bag with.

I still haven't found a case I like, I really wanted to like the luvtab case but I felt it was too bulky & spoilt the feel of the n7, next to try is the asus case which is over twice the price

Fits well, and is not thin enough to be useless if your keys etc are pressed against it, well recommended. It also arrived quicker than the 5-11 days advertised.

Is anybody else with a case that has a sleep magnet (mine's a LuvTab one) having occasional random locking problems when the cover flap is wrapped all the way around the back of the case? Scared the heck out of me the first couple of times it happened....

No problems with the cheap one I got from Amazon, it seems to lock every time and the magnet is so small/weak it really needs to be on the front of the case to work properly. The only thing I think I would change is the amount  of coverage at the edges, as the opening is the same size as the screen it makes it difficult to swipe in from the edge to scroll through tabs in chrome and to pull down the status bar.

Decided to cancel my slip case order and go with a zipper padded pouch I found in PoundLand for £1 !
The N7 slips about inside sure, but I have extra space for a cleaning cloth and to bundle earphones in there too.

It fits snuggly, but the corner strap and case lip does make pressing the power button fiddly.  

If Amazon wanted they could easily make this a smart case with a magnet and it'd be perfect for it.

I tend to prefer to use mine naked (the Nexus 7 is naked, not me) but I still wanted a case to protect it when it's in a bag etc. I liked the idea of getting a keyboard for it as well (nearly bought one for my iPad on many occasions but never pulled the trigger).

Keyboard section is held to case with a magnet so just pulls away, the back has a kickstand so that you can stand it up on a table in the above pose when using it as a netbook. The light grey leather around the Nexus 7 is actually a dark grey, same as the rest of the case, on the one that I received.

Yes it's overkill if you will never use the keyboard and yes it's bulky but it provides plenty of cushioning in transit. Plus it stops being particularly bulky once you detach the keyboard and use it in a book position - no different to the official cases for the "Kindle Keyboard" in terms of thickness. As I said I tend to remove it from the case if I'm going to use the Nexus 7 for long periods anyway.

I'm tempted to connect a mouse and see what it's like playing games using Splashtop

For £22.49 I highly recommend it if you are looking for something like this!
