So I just received a g300 from Vodafone but it doesn't pick up on the network.

It doesn't report a SIM error, but when I try to ring a number it pops up 'mobile network not available'
The SIM works perfectly in any other handset

I've tried updating, resetting etc but it doesn't work.
I'd appreciate any help before I take it back to a Vodafone shop

is it in airplane mode with radios switched off?
if airplane mode is not on,  then it must be the phone

Do you have credit? Have you registered the SIM? Is there signal? Does Vodafone work for other phones from the same location? Are your local masts operational?

Menu=>Settings=>Wireless and Networks=>Mobile Settings=>Network operators

That will list the networks the phone can see. What happens when you do it?
