Guest firestomper Posted September 9, 2012 Report Share Posted September 9, 2012 Hi, Have bought this phone and would liketo update the phone to ICS but not sure iff it can be done as did see that there was an update on the official huawei website, but it was only for B915 and above versions and my version that i have on here is B889. The main thing you have to do is to make an IMEI backup in your ROM (this one, only one backup (best stored at more places)) - with this backup you can downgrade your ROM back to previous, original state whenever you want (you can do it also without an IMEI backup, but you lose all customizations from service provider, if you choose different version of ROM, that is not provided by your SP - restoring your original IMEI on original ROM leads to original configuration). There are guides easily written, but read them carefully, any silly step (or omitted) could lead to misconfiguration, or worse, to a bricked device.
