Hello, well I´m trying to port some MSM7227 roms from others phones, to our G300.

So my question is if I can brick it flashing yhose roms.

I´m obiosly going to replace kernel (boot.img) adn mod updater-script, but dont know if I can damage my lovely G300 :S.

Don´t know too if I can port for example CM7, should it work? I mean I have 2030 baseband, this baseband only works with ICS based ROMS?

That´s all :)

Hope that isn´t a crazy thing to do this :D

Regards ! ;)

Firstly, it's MSM7227a

Secondly, don't port CM7, it's meant to be built from source.

And no, you can't brick your phone if you have clockworkmod, but as you say, messing with basebands may brick your phone.

But if you port a ROM it shouldn't touch your baseband, so you'll be fine.

I'm pretty sure the 2030 baseband and will not work with gingerbread, ie the radio won't work so calls texts internet won't work

I was thinking an updated baseband would work, but an outdated one on a newer software ( i.e. 4.x) wouldn't.

Nope jaime it won't. But id recommend not making cm7 by porting as one user pointed out its not a good idea. Porting roms to this should be fairly easy. Armv7 best device to port from is A nexus model.

You're not going to have a huge amount of luck doing a straight port to the G300. Especially with no CM7 base to port to.

True... building from source would have to be the main option. But no devs really implement on running gb on g300 since jb nd ics is being developed
