Hello there people of Modaco,

I was just wondering if there was a safe way to root a Samsung Galaxy SII, and if there is, please could you post a thread/instructions on how it is done. I am based in the UK & I have a black SII:

Model number-
GT-I9100

Android version-
4.0.4

Baseband version-
I9100XXLQ6

Kernel version-
3.0.15-I9100XWLPT-CL941023

Build number-

I have looked everywhere & can't find a reasonable answer, only people saying it's impossible.

and i'd reckon to use CF-Root-SGS2_XW_NEE_LPT-v5.6-CWM5.zip kernel

I have exactly the same kernel,etc on my S2 and I rooted it last week and it worked fine. Can be done without flashing from a zip file loaded on the SDCard with standard kernel. http://forum.xda-dev...d.php?t=1746794

I just got a S2 the other day and I have have the same Kernel/firmware etc as the OP - do anyone know if this has the superbrick bug that I keep reading about?
