battery drain

Hi everyone,

Can you help me collect data on the battery drain for the Liquid Phones? Can you please install a free app called CPU Spy and collect data for a data and report how much the phone spends in the lower frequencies and in deep sleep? If you do not use the phone a lot you should see a significant number for deep sleep. If you do not see any for deep sleep then the phone is not going to deep sleep ever. This is bad.

I am using a custom ROM that I created with some power management features and I see that the phone spends almost all of the time in 128MHz. I do not see any for deep sleep. So this is not so good. I want to see if the phone ever goes to deep sleep with other ROMs. Note that the notification LEDs on the top never turn off. I am guessing this may be the culprit, but need further investigation. Thanks for any information. Here is my summary from CPU Spy:

Phone usage: idle and suspended

ROM Info: thepasto's CM9 custom built

Total State Time: 4:26:19

768 MHz: 2%

576MHz: 0%

384MHz: 0%

245MHz: 0%

128MHz: 96%

Deep Sleep and other frequencies are in unused CPU states.

installing it and will report back the stats soon(i am on CM7.2 by Ainillia)

-----

Stats: on first launch

768 3%

245 1%

128 1%

Deep Sleep 92%

Total State Time 7:46:03

Right after installing it says 92% Deep Sleep, but will use the phone for a day after installation and report back the stats

I loose 1 percent or less per hour in sleep mode.

CM 7.2 Ainilla version

Usage: 2 full days of my normal usage, Music for about 7 hours, an hour of games, wifi on all the time when at home, data on when outside, Whatsapp all the time

960MHz : 1:57:17

883MHz : 0:24:11

768MHz : 1:05:41

576MHz : 0:44:45

384MHz : 0:40:25

245MHz : 2:15:34

128MHz : 21:59:33

Deep Sleep : 19:05:21

Total State Time : 48:12:50

My observation is that the phone doesn't go into deep sleep when wifi is on or when playing music with the screen off, that's what I noticed on all roms

But the phone sleeps normally when data is enabled and wifi is off

stock 2.2, with mt fix kernel and unlocked OC, setcpu @ 245-960mhz, ondemand

Phone usage: mostly idle/suspended, around 2-4 hours in subway listening music

Time in state:

960mhz 0:27:43 0%

...

245mhz 13:48:31 15%

Deep Sleep 76:35:16 84%

Total State Time 91:00:13

any idea how it can be 91 hours if the phone is 1 day 17 hr after charge (from android stats)?

ps reported values for these clocks in setcpu are almost same, excepting that there is no deep sleep info.

ok, thanks for the information you all. I think I get an idea of the overall drain.

GvM, the time is your phone's uptime (how long it has been up from boot). Looks like your phone has been booted ~91 hours ago. You could also reset these timers from CPU spy. Just hit the menu button and say reset timers.

Can someone try running this CPU spy on cm9 and reporting back? Does the phone ever go to deep sleep when in idle state and screen is off?

Hi, I`am using CM9 (Honor repack). Phone go to deep sleep most of the time normally. However, sometimes it stand at 128 Mhz until reboot. I don`t know reason of this, but notice so far, that it happens after phone been used as car navigator + music. (auto acc. charger + aux cable to car music player. Soft: Power Amp + Yandex.maps). Using any of this soft / cable separately don`t cause battery issue. MB it helps, and sorry for my bad english :)

Here is CPU Spy statistic of 2 hour idle state:
