to be fair anyone that regularly creates there own stuff is a developer... after all that's what they did, develop it

i think it would be ignorant to think otherwise...

its just that there are different categories of developers, even out side of android

Well, yeah... Assuming they have a modicum of genuine understanding of the language they're using and not merely working with templates and a software suite that does most of the work.

Ultimately, one either knows how to use a text editor to author a piece of software, or not.

what software suite dose most of the work for people ?

and i assume most people that work with android have an understanding of java

maybe for simple mods like build.prop tweaks etc,  not for coding stuff
