Don't know if this has already been posted, it does date back to the end of August, if so, please delete this thread.

"As with many budget blowers, the G300 runs the Gingerbread iteration of Android. Huawei originally told me it would be getting an Ice Cream Sandwich update this summer -- but that timeframe looks to have been pushed on a little.

According to a tweet sent from a Huawei Twitter account yesterday a "customised version of ICS" will be released to people who bought the phone via Vodafone "later this year"."

I'm sorry Daz, could you elaborate?

I'll try: Later this evening we'll have JB ready from an "one man show" but Huawei needs 1/2 year to fix what already exists...

So Huawei joins the long list of lying and thieving Android manufacturers?

Seriously, Android updates are getting more and more of a joke, and not less.

God bless independent developers.

huawei could very easily give the g300 jelly bean...

its not that they cant, they just don't want to....

they want you to buy a new device from them that ship's with jelly bean..

they want you to get board of the g300 sooner than later...

just like all the other greedy manufactures out there...

that's the true behind it, its all about money :( i say f??k huawei from what i have seen, wont ever buy from them

True about Huawei not wanting to give us JB, I guess that's the nature of capitalism. It's getting to the point where the only way manufacturers can differentiate their phones and justify premium prices is by shipping or updating them with the latest OS. At least with Huawei we all get to own some pretty cool technology for a bargain price and have it supercharged by talented and dedicated developers, like yourself Tillaz. :) Looks like a *winning* situation to me!

Exactly tillaz, I expect good and reliable manufacturers not like huawei. G300 can run jelly bean its just up to the manufacture company's to decide. For instant another done which is near identical to g300 but is shipped with jb they want more money. They don't really give out much updates. Now look at the frequent updates for the nexus. Its a good fone.
