I'm not sure about anybody else, but the Social Gallery app is eating up a lot of my battery! This app single-handedly beats any other application at sucking juice and is second-only to the Screen (I use Auto-Brightness...); does anyone else have trouble with native or third-party apps?

No such problem here. Maybe it's choking on a file?

I have seen Social gallery very high up in my battery usage in the past. I assumed it was because I had turned 'Facial recognition On' in the settings for that app. So I turned facial recognition off. Social Gallery currently using 2% of my current usage.

I just removed the Social Gallery... it munches a whole lot of battery even when disabled

I removed it because it's s*** and I wanted the stock gallery app instead. Interesting tip about the face detection though.. maybe that's the cause of the high usage.

I delete social gallery too, because it's crap. I pushed to /system/app a stock gallery apk from a cm9 I had for my blade. The app is working but the sync with picasa is not. Anyone know a way to make that working, another apk from /system/app is needed?

Do I have to root to delete Social Gallery?
I will upload a screen of the battery usage near my next charge.

Why can't you disable it? That will have the same result won't it? Disabling does not require root. Go to settings, apps, all, social gallery, Disable

I'd have to disable it every cycle... right?

Alright, I will try this. Cheers, bro.

Okay... my battery drain is ridiculous now. The main culprits are (in the following order...)
Social Gallery
Android System
Phone Idle
Android OS
Mobile standby
...
This phone drains like crazy, even when idle. I think the bloatware is wakelocking me. Will disable Social Gallery and post results.

Install Better Battery Stats from http://forum.xda-dev...d.php?t=1179809
Look at kernel wakelocks and partial wakelocks. That will tell you the culprits causing the high battery usages. Social Gallery is the biggest cause even when disabled. Just root, mount system r/w and delete the app from system/app. Then install the ICS Gallery either from the play store or by pushing the APK from elsewhere. Google for it.

https://play.google....liberty.toolbox can uninstall the bloatware as well. I've used it to get rid of Social gallery(replaced by https://play.google....lensw.PicFolder in my case), Kepplr, Xolo Care and Double Twist successfully.

That does not work, it stays active lol, even freezing does not stop it, I think the intel camera reactivates it so only solution is removal.

Just charged to 100% to watch the battery instantly drop to 95% :|
...
EDIT 1: According to CPU Spy my phone is now entering Deep Sleep.
EDIT 2: Down to 90% after 30 minutes almost completely idle... Screen, Android OS and Mobile standby are the top culprits.

Those are normal. The screen is quite power hungry

Also remove XoloDeviceSales but keep MobileCare as that's the system updater. The Xolo stuff is that crap that bugs you to register.

I'm okay with that, but after using the screen for a very limited amount of time it sure does suck a lot of juice...
Screen, Android OS, Android System, Phone idle and Mobile standby are my top five. I've had my phone on for three hours now; CPU Spy shows two hours in Deep Sleep and one hour at 600Mhz, yet I'm < 80% battery!
Social Gallery seems to only be a problem every other cycle, the cheeky so-and-so.
So, all in all... confused.
