Do you have a lot of SMS messages, some of sentimental value? Do you need to backup your SMS from your phone to pc or mac? I found third party software for andriod Phone to transfer SMS to your desktop computer.

This software can either backup and restore SMS and can backup and restore Contacts, very handy. I've been using and strongly recommend you to use.

There is an app called Android Manager that saves them to the SD card which can then transfer and backup SMS from Android phone to computer. However I prefer SMS Backup that saves them to Gmail because having large message threads is a big source of lag and takes up internal phone memory.
