The yanks with backorders are having their shipping costs waived. Little comfort, I know, but they should offer it here too..... You'll probably still get yours before me, tho as I didn't even get that far!

Got email from Google today saying it was back on sale in the USA only. What was the point in emailing me then as you can only buy if resident in the USA.

OK I may have jumped the gun as it were. I now have my Nexus 4. I am posting on it now. It seems that orders are going through and my shipping has been waived (but it will take a week to get refunded.)

Don't hold your breath until after Christmas for more UK stock. Google took a leaf from Apples book by launching a device then making it immediately unavailable to drive interest/sales. I was very lucky to get one really.

They keep tinkering with the play store as page monitors keep flagging changes. We may get a wave 2 sale and then the 6-8 week lead time like they now have in the us.

If toy want one now I hate to say or but it seems the only option is to pay an extra £100 for one from o2 or the car phone warehouse

They went back on sale for the UK yesterday afternoon at 5pm. I managed to order a 16GB when it said 1-2 weeks shipping; it now says 4-5 weeks for the 16GB but the 8GB version has sold out completely again.

For what it's worth I spied an email from Google about 6.30 on Tuesday evening (GMT), spent 10 minutes trying to order it through a VPN (i'm in Ireland) with serial failures before getting on the phone to my brother in the UK - he promptly ordered me a 16gb N4 (quoted shipping time 5-6 weeks). Last evening shipping notice appears! Phone due imminently! (in the UK unfortunately - will need to arrange the next step of its journey tonight)

So it looks like Google prepared me for the worst (a long wait) then made up for everyone else's disappointment by shipping mine weeks ahead of shedule. Balance is restored to the universe :)

the annoying thing is those that ordered bang on 5 agent getting despatch messages, it's probably better you had the problems and got your phone faster as a result

Same here, got a 16GB on 1-2 weeks shipping.

WTF?!? Got the receipt email from Google but still shows as pending when I check the order.

Nope, ordered at 5:09 which was pretty much when they came online as 5pm was missed, no despatch info, just a pending order in the play store.

E-commerce is definitely not their strong point.

Genuinely sorry things have gone so badly for you guys - I've had a horrible week in other corners of my life, but I found out last night that the phone arrived at my brother's gaff lunchtime yesterday! He's playing with it currently and making me ache with envy (I'll be picking it up from him next weekend, having had parcels go astray between the UK and Ireland too often to risk it again).

It's a wonky ol' world of tech deliveries - I was tweeting some other guy who'd ordered on Tuesday and his was in the post already too - I wonder if they've sorted things out for this second batch. Doesn't make sense that they've left you guys hanging though

EDIT - btw, it's quiet in here isn't it? I'm a veteran of the early days of the Blade - the forum was alive with chat. Obv there are very few N4s in people's hands as yet, but I'd hoped there might be a few more folk about on modaco. Will keep checking in but otherwise it's over to xda, I guess

Just chucking in my latest order woes to go with everyone else's Ordered immediately receipt says "Delivered in 3-5 business days", device still in pending state, no update since the 4th, Google Help Center unable to give my any information whatsoever.

If this was the first mistake it wouldn't be so bad, but I also couldn't order the first time around due to the website errors, i vote next time they just get someone with retail experience run the show. I thought after the launch fiasco they would have fixed the problems, and having seen them put the handset purchase limit on i was feeling optimistic, but seems they still have a long way to go.

I hope it turns up for you soon englishpunk because it is one hell of a phone. I have had mine over a week now and it is a beast. It has even made my die hard iDevice mates jealous :)

Cheers mate, i've been waiting for something to worthy to replace my Motorola Atrix, the only real gripe with that being the shocking update policy, hence Nexu 4 fits the bill.

My handset hasn't even been shipped yet, and depending on whether you count the order date as a business date, i'm on day 4 or 5 of my 3-5 business day delivery, so not holding out much hope it will be on time like the Google Help Center IVR says ! They say they've now forwarded it to the shipping team, 24-48 business hour response, so as above, not feeling loved right now. I know there's high demand, but that's really no excuse for the catalogue of errors related to this device, it's not like i'm the only one having problems or anything :(

I'm sure no-one is surprised to hear my package hasn't even shipped ( let alone arrived on time ), i did get the below answer eventually from one of the many people at Google, thought some people might be interested to see.

If the quoted ship time for your order is 2-3 weeks and under, your order will ship between 12/12 and 12/18 with 2-day shipping. If your quoted ship time is longer than 3 weeks, then you will likely receive your device after Christmas.

EDIT : Latest update :

I have heard from the specialist and I was told that your order will ship before Christmas.

I'm not feeling much confidence at the moment, i've reached out to see if i can get better information from another contact.

Loving my Nexus 4 at the moment. Ordered it 4 Dec & was given '1 to 2 weeks shipping'. Was shipped on the 19th & got it on the 20th, so cant complain really.

After moving from a ZTE Skate I'm blown away with the speed of it, everything is soooo quick! Already rooted & boot loader unlocked so I might give Pauls custom rom a try - not sure whet the benefits are at the moment, as I've got to read the entire thread. No rush though as its Vanilla android & not been messed with by a operator - I'm looking at you Orange!!!!!
