I'm running the ADW launcher on Cyda's Stock+ rom - google lets me think it's okay to freeze the standard launcher, but is that all there is to it? I'm sure I saw something about making the new launcher a system app but how do I do that? Is it even worth  freezing/removing the huawei launcher? Does doing this save on any real resources?

On a related note, is anybody using the trebuchet launcher? I installed it from the apk, but couldn't find any way to configure it.
Any opinions on launchers welcome

I saw that - but it seems to suggest you slipstream the new launcher into the rom before you flash it - i'm trying to get this done with the rom already installed. I'm paranoid I'll end up with no launcher at all.

Just try it, if you end up with no launcher just flash the ROM again without wipe and hey presto it's back!

But if you're not using a launcher its not using any resources. I've had 3-4 installer at once in the past and not noticed.

I've done this with Apex several times successfully using Titanium backup convert to system app function. Both setting Apex as a system app, then deleting Trebuchet, and by deleting the stock browser 1st with Apex as a standard app (and then converting). I've also deleted to no launcher and got another from Play lol.

Thanks guys - I took a deep breath and froze 2DHome, then made ADW a system app. All good.
