See the table in the link that I provided and then go to gsmarena and search for phones that meets these requirements.

Yes Ubuntu Phone is too heavy for the Liquid, but Firefox OS would be great :

Don't know if it would be possible to port it to our Liquid ?

A “low end” Ubuntu Phone will require, at a minimum:
  • Dual-core A9 ARM Processor
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 4GB Flash Storage + SD
  • 800×400 WVGA Screen
  • Multi-touch
