mine won't allow me to update
all I have done is root and removed some of the crappy orange apps

I haven't got the update either and all I have done is updated to the xolo ICS without root

I wasn't rooted. I was planning on rooting so I could get this to work, just hadn't got 'round to it yet. Saved me a job, and it seems to work as I've just tested it in part of the house with no signal.
