Never had a android phone and wondering if I would be able to put music onto the memory card once I have unlocked it?
would I be able to store music on the memory card? advice would be appreciated

First this device doesn't have a sd card but internal memory. An sd card can be put into the device buy it doesn't work out of the box. Second, yes you will be able to put music on this memory pretty much like you would on a usb memory stick. You don't need any unlocking to put that music on the memory.

I think his question is, is it a full size or micro SD slot. I've never taken the back off so couldn't help.

It's a MICRO SD slot. The back is fairly easier to get off, you just need patience.

get Class 4 micro SDHC for music
or get Class 10 if you are going to run video over HDMI or WiDi
