I want to use my Orange San Francisco for tethering. It is one of the earlier models, with the OLED screen. I have already rooted it and not using the Orange software.

There a few questions I want to ask.

Can it work as a normal modem (is that the same of tethering)? Is the software already built in?

What is the modem speed, how can I check the connection speed with my provider?

Is the 3 network a good one to use it on?

if you are using Froyo or a later android version, under settings, wireless networks, tethering & portable hotspot you should find the option to usb or wifi tether

Three UK block WiFi tethering most of the time however when they don't know you are tethering the speeds are very good even on the blade.

If someone has helped you give them rep and vote Posted Image their post.

Device History: HTC Widfire (sold) - ZTE Blade (sold) - 3x Motorola Atrix 4G (touchscreen died all 3) - ZTE Blade (retired) - Sony Xperia T (couldn't hack it :-() - HTC One X
