I just been doing a bit of digging to see if there were any further updates available when I came across this...Should be helpful for people I think. Not going to try the update myself yet really as I'm still waiting for the full JB update rather than a beta.

There seems to be a shortage of G3s available in stores..maybe too much demand or too little supply..do wish it would be the former, so there would be better odds that we get updates and custom ROMs..

sorry I can't understand. What do you mean? Do you mean "there will NOT be updates anymore"  or "YES There will be updates"?

i suspect that Jiayu might have slowed down production of the G3 due to the fact the G4 & G5 might be coming out within the next 2-6 months.
Also....I think the G3 is indefinably getting the JB update is all a matter of when & really not to rush it; as no one wants shoddy software, Also want to make the phone as appealing as possible after the launch debarkle.

I have went back to ICS as discovered netflix and BBC Iplayer not working, although I don't think this is specific to Jiayu as a lot of companys have had trouble with JB not handling streaming content well for some reason.

Seems like its best for us to all stay on the original ICS rom for now.

I really don't see this as being the case. People won't wait 2-6 months to get a G4 or G5, they will just go to one of the many different manufacturers making almost identical specced phones. Jiayu are not one of those companies that would command brand loyalty either so I think they will be making G3's as fast as they can if there is demand for them.

The longer it stays on demand, the better for us consumers. It would somehow make Jiayu to keep updating the software side of things.

Hopefully they'd release kernel sources, too. It would be a good idea for them to do so as well. It could save them from some development costs if they let the modding community help them out.

I have the G3N model build 20130223-071508

if i understand correctly the JB beta rom is only for the "older" G3?

also would anyone know what is the latest offocial ROM version of ICS for the G3N

How do you find out which version you have? G3N? What other versions are there?

they haven't even released a stable full JB rom yet, then they got g3n, and G3S coming in..what are they thinking? imo they'd be better off releasing sources and letting the modding community take care of the rest..

I've not seen the G3N or G3S mentioned on any sites. What's the difference with these compared to the normal G3 that most of us have?
