I think the concept with Ubuntu Phone\Tablet in Padfone2 will be sucess.

For me will be a perfect integration of phone, tablet mode and laptop in one single device.

The last part of Ubuntu official video is pretty interesting, due to phone slide into a tablet! Which look identicle to Padfone2 with Tablet dock. I hope this will be true for Padfone 2 from Asus Update. Meaning eventually PF2 need to unlock boot loader to happen.

There is the rom preview for ubuntu touch

https://wiki.ubuntu....hInstallProcess

Supported devices and codenames

The table below lists the supported devices and their corresponding factory images, should you want to switch back to Android. The images can be foundhere.

Device
Codename
Factory firmware from Google
Galaxy Nexus
maguro
takju or yakju
Nexus 4
mako
occam
Nexus 7
grouper
nakasi or nakasig
Nexus 10
manta
mantaray

in Wiki never talk in costum recovery only in unlock the booloader... maybe its portable for padfone2...

and the drivers...

https://developers.g...d/nexus/drivers

And the port wiki, but the devices with Cyanogen 10.1 work its more easy to port ubuntu touch!

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/Porting

Please Dev's you have here good stuff to start something... i think is not necessary costum recovery to flash this
