Getting the HDMI output to work seems pretty easy, once you have the right cable. However, the "Desktop" always has a 1024x600 resolution, so even if you have a Full HD device, things look a big blurred. Is there any way to increase the resolution for the HDMI output - a way that does not just involve scaling?

No you cant because you would have to change the resolution of the phone
