Hello, I've just rooted my Huawei G300 and I`m now searching for a custom kernel which may give me the option to overclock the CPU to 1.22 GHz ( I heard that it's the best frequency ).

The questions are:

1. Do I need a Custom ROM for the Kernel to work?
2. What is the best Custom Kernel for my Huawei Ascend G300 ?
3. How do I actually install a Kernel? I know that I must reboot into recovery using ROM Manager, and then I must install the zip from SD Card, is that alright?

no you dont need a custom ROM, just install no frills control from the market after flashing the zip :0

anyway, how to find my stock based rom version?

and what applications should i add to improve gaming performance?

//edit : i dont find the "install from sdcard" option, some help ?

You need to install clockwork mod and root.
