Hi all.

I just wondered if any of you out there would like to swap your San Diego for an Apple iPod Touch, 4th gen (8Gb)? It is in great condition & full working order, but has no earphones or USB cable. I am trying to sell elsewhere in order to buy a San Diego so I may join the hack effort, but I thought I would offer it here too.

Thank you :)

Matt

LOL!

I can understand people having last year's San Diego price in their mind when making comments that the iPod is "not worth it", but I am looking at this from the perspective of a new buyer, and the San Diego is now just £99, not £199, and the iPod Touch 4th gen sells used for £90-£100 all day long on eBay etc, so unless you are expecting to re-coup a chunk of last year's San Diego price, which is highly unlikely you will, then I'm bang on the nail at my price, in my opinion, as a San Diego - which I can buy for £99, *used*, is then worth £65-80 to me, see?

Let's face it, why would I pay more than £99 for a used San Diego, when I can buy a new one for that? I hope you see my rationale :)

Thanks :)

How much premium would you add for an unlocked OSD? Especially given the minimum 6 month de-facto wait period plus the extra 3 months for them to actually process it?

You're assuming that I'm not already with Orange/T-mobile/Virgin. If I *needed* it to be unlocked, I'd make that explicitly clear. Also, half the point of my buying one is to work on an unlocking solution, so locked or no, it's irrelevant to me entirely.

A premium could indeed be considered for one to whom it mattered, yes, but asking a premium for an unlocked handset over a locked one, when it was unlocked to solve *your* problem and the buyer is indifferent as to whether its locked or not, is pointless. If you take issue with Orange keeping you waiting X months for an unlock code and charging £X for it, you take that up with Orange, not the buyer you're selling to.

Thank you :)

Most people would just say they don't need it to be unlocked but if you want to come across as if you've got a broom handle stuck up your nether regions than I guess that's your business. Have a good day. :)

I was explaining why it doesn't matter to a buyer. I'm sorry that you choose to take offence with how I speak; I didn't mean it offensively, it was a matter of making it clear.

This is not the first occasion upon which you've willingly taken offence when you weren't given it - you told me I was calling people liars, in another thread, for no rational reason.

I'd think it best if you don't read too much into things, with due respect.

@glossywhite, since you're getting an OSD do you think that you'll be able to crack the boot loader?

Ask me when I get it :P

hehe

[EDIT]

Got it!! :D

So how about answering that question

Haha!

Gimme a chance guvna', only been playing with it for 3 hours, and a bloke's got to have a good 48 hours of fiddling with a new gadget :P

I'm not rushing this; I've seen what happens when other, over-enthused owners go rushing in... and BRICK it. No thanks, I'm taking it easy :)

Have a Happy Easter, God bless you! :)
