Looking for a Linux version of this tool? ----> http://www.modaco.co...-kit-for-linux/

Hello!

I've just ported the root and unroot script used in rickwyatt's AIO tool, to Linux, and have now ported my version back to Windows also, to make it cross platform and save you all some bother.

Credit for the AIO tool, ergo the portions of the script used in this version, go to:

"By Bin4ry thanks toGoroh_kun and tkymgr

for the idea Edited by Ricky Wyatt for

Orange San diego"

1/ Ensure you have the Intel "Medfield" drivers downloaded & installed - they're here, if not:

2/ Connect your San Diego to your PC via a micro USB cable, ensuring "USB debugging" is enabled, and make sure it is fully installed, and that "Device Manager" sees it okay, and that there are no exclamation marks etc.

3/ Download and install my OSD easy root/un-root tool:

---> https://www.dropbox....indows.exe?dl=1 <--

4/ Run the "ROOT SAN DIEGO" or "UN-ROOT SAN DIEGO" shortcuts from the Desktop.

That is all you need to do! :)

Does this work with the ASUS Fonepad (Intel Atom Z2420)? Thanks :)

I suspect it'll work BUT only if the intention is to permanently brick your Fonepad...

In other words don't try it.

Hello,

can i use this tool to root my phone if i installed the last update (the update of may 2013)

Thanks

Just the minimum of research would have told you no, downgrade first using the AIO tool.

Hi I'm considering buying the San Diego phone but just wondering what the update is that Stephanie referred to, in case the phone has this update already installed.

Comments please.

Thanks

Lol, I think you'll find Stephane (not Stephanie) is male and possibly French.

Edit :- I'd blame it on text prediction if I was you. :D

I can't get get the adbd insecure to enable. Got the message 'Could not patch adbd !' on phone. I tried the new tool anyway. Here is a screen shot of what it says. I'm sure it is something very simple that I am not doing. It always is...

Just go through the first post line by line. As you say it's probably something like not enabling USB debugging.

I believe rooting has been blocked by the latest update and downgrading isn't possible either.

I may be wrong, but currently just recovered my SanDiego after an Orange power button fix to XOLO (coz I didn't read the warning about the XOLO update from an upgraded Orange phone using HDMI back to XOLO with the 58mb update.

So where do I go from here? Can I go anywhere?

Sadly no, it seems Google did a good job of blocking any exploits with ICS and we're never getting JB(even if any exploit exists for it).

Sorry but once they install the patches you're stuck with it.

But I may be wrong  :)  see below
