and non-transparent background is helpful too :) I'll give to this a chance and if it really speed up dropdown, i'll do this in LiQu (maybe beta-1)

This made scrolling smoth too, copy&paste this to /system/build.prop

persist.sys.scrollingcache=32m

Think you have typo.

persist.sys.scrollingcache=3

Or 0,1,2,3. By the way i think it works.
