Guest jhpdroid2 Posted June 8, 2013 Report Share Posted June 8, 2013 My father has changed his mobile so I'm going to use his Hauwei Ascend G300, it currently has Gingerbread installed and I'm looking to flash a custom rom on it and I'm a bit stuck, wondered if anyone could and be willing to give me a hand. I've been following this guide: http://huaweig300.com/huawei-g300-install-a-custom-jelly-bean-ics-rom-from-scratch/ And I'm currently stuck at this point: http://huaweig300.com/huawei-g300-install-a-custom-jelly-bean-ics-rom-from-scratch/check-and-update-... I downloaded the b952 update zip and extract it to the SD Card and try and tell the phone do the update as the guide says but it justs reboots the mobile..... Anyone got any ideas or pointers? Gingerbread is far faster than ics. I advice you not to upgrade. My intention is to install a custom rom, I'm just following the guide I linked to in my opening post, as I understand from the guide, I need to do this step. My baseband is 109808, B895 You could always try turning off the phone, taking out the battery and then putting it back in after 10 seconds. Then hold volume up AND down at the same time. Then hold power. You should see a screen with a pink bar. Also I would recommend staying on gingerbread, they are the only good stock ROMs Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Then hold volume up AND down at the same time. Then hold power. You should see a screen with a pink bar. Also I would recommend staying on gingerbread, they are the only good stock ROMs I have tried that also, I get a pink screen rather than a bar and it stays like that - I have to take the battery out again to reboot the phone again. As stated previously, it was my intention to install a custom ROM, but have resigned myself to staying with GB, not because I want to because I have no other choice unless I buy a new device or can determine what the problem is here :( Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
