Reformatting micro-sd problem

Hi all, I have took my 32gb Lexar class 10 micro-sd out of my osd and tried to format it in windows but it won't format and only shows 1gb ? it says the disk is write protected but it isn't ? anyone else have this problem or know how to fix ?

SD Write Protect Problems: slider tab/software

There is no physical switch on the Micro SD card itself, but a standard-size-SD adapter (which the MicroSD needs to be plugged into for use with a card reader) and SD cards such as theSanDisk 4/8GB have a sliding write-protect switch similar to a 3.5 inch floppy disk. Data cannot be written if the slider tab is in the 'lock' position. The tab could be damaged or missing altogether. This is probably the first thing to check if you have an SD card write error problem. Using sticky tape (Scotch tape etc) to cover the switch slot might solve this problem, but it may need two or more layers before it works.

Some SD adapters need the tab to be placed somewhere between the lock and open positions before data can be written to the card.

SOFTWARE FIX: WRITE PROTECT SETTING IN WINDOWS REGISTRY

There is also a USB flash card write protect setting in the Windows registry which can be changed by anti-virus programs. It can be reset manually using regedit. See the fix in our SD blog comments. Note that registries differ between XP, Vista and Windows 7 & 8 systems.

I recently fixed my 8GB microSD with it, which I had used for testing in the OSD (probably not a coincidence). Make sure you turn on "Format size adjustment"

Turns out the sd card developed a fault, tried it with gparted and it failed again. contacted lexar and they are sending me the rma details. just wondering if the osd had corrupted it ??

Did you try SD Formatter I posted above?

I hadn't used my 8GB microSD since I tested it in the OSD, when I went to use it in a Nook Simple Touch (I picked up for £29) it was displaying a much lower value. SD Formatter took it back to the right amount.
