After pulling the battery and restarting, the Huawei logo appears briefly and then the screen goes blank with no sign of life. Booting into recovery also produces a blank screen. Looks as if I shall have to take the damn thing into Vodafone AGAIN. This time, however, they will see the root hack that I cannot now remove. Guest Clarkiieh Posted September 17, 2013 Report Share Posted September 17, 2013 They can't tell the phones been dabbled with if its not booting fully, could be a faulty firmware for all they no, by right you have the right to exchange or swap for the same product, they won't be clever enough to think that far ahead, tell them you woke up and the phone was blank screen'd no.life in it atall.. sound really cheesed off like you where depending on your alarm and you missed a meeting haha! I hope you are right about them not being able to detect root because I can envisage it being sent back without having been fixed. I will then have a very expensive brick. Guest Voxpop2011 Posted September 17, 2013 Report Share Posted September 17, 2013 I am convinced the root hacks for these phones (G510/Y300) is what screws up some handsets. I had to send it back previously as following root, the phone really started to play up. I uninstalled root, did a factory reset and took it into Vodafone because it continued to be unstable. This time I left it too late.
